`I am a living legend!'

Thank god, you're not a wrestler. Or else Chris Jericho wouldn't have spared you. In seconds, the 231 lb-heavy wrestler can pound you to pulp, hold you by your legs and make you beg for your life.
`I am a living legend!'
Thank god, you''re not a wrestler. Or else Chris Jericho wouldn''t have spared you. In seconds, the 231 lb-heavy wrestler can pound you to pulp, hold you by your legs and make you beg for your life. So when you call him a jerk and he smiles, it''s only because the Canada-based wrestler knows he''s doing his job well.
"It''s fun to be the bad guy. On the show my job is to antagonise. On stage I''m egotistical, but in real life I''m pretty much the nice guy," confesses Jericho, who will be in Bangalore for the World Wrestling Entertainment show at Palace Grounds on November 23.
Minutes after he got back from a live show, Jericho spoke to this reporter about life as a wrestler. "I''ve always wanted to be a wrestler. The other options were being an ice hockey player or playing for a rock band. I actually find time to do all three," says Jericho, who plays for a rock band called Fozzy. As a child, Jericho always followed the creative path. "I was always a kid with a lot of imagination. I had big dreams, big plans and many friends."
Jericho first appeared on WWE television on August 9, 1999. It was there that he gave himself the nickname J2K -- emphasising that he was the new star of the millennium. "Before the new millennium, everyone was scared of the Y2K Bug, so I came up with J2K. It''s also easy to chant, `J2K, J2K...."
When he was declared the first-ever WWE undisputed champion in 2001, Jericho said it was like winning the Oscar for best film. "It was proof that I was exactly what I said I was." A larger-than-life superstar or the Living Legend as he proudly called himself!
With The Rock as his favourite opponent, you can just imagine all that Jericho can do. "There''s great chemistry between The Rock and me. It''s the ultimate good guy vs bad guy situation," he laughs. Will he go The Rock way? "Movies are a possibility, for it''s something I would love to do. After all, I am an entertainer."
The 32-year-old wrestler who just celebrated his birthday last week is excited about coming to Bangalore this month, for it''s his first trip to India. "I''m waiting to see the Jerichoholics. Just getting to see India will be really exciting. I have heard it''s very beautiful, with a different atmosphere and culture. I hope I can go to the Taj Mahal."
